New Arrival!!!

We went and picked up a new Model B today. It is in pretty good condition, but definitely needs some TLC. As I write this post my hubby & brother are in the garage wrestling the top off. Seems like they are having some difficultly removing some of the screws. I am not sure of the exactly model # yet. I took off the plate & it is soaking to get the grease off of it. Anyway, I will post more pictures soon. I was hoping someone could direct me to the posting that explained what all the numbers are in the model #. I have searched, but can't seem to find it.

Oh yeah, since my current stove is named after my paternal grandmother, it only seemed right to name this one after my maternal grandmother. Please welcome 'Vida'. Thanks.

Are you planning to use one stove for parts/backup or have 2 working stoves??

You ask some good. My kitchen is definitely not big enough for both ladies. My original thought was to bring in a stove to use as-is while I worked on Opal. However, I came across Vida, she needed a good home, and the price was right! So my plan right now is to restore Opal after I complete Vida. Oh yeah, one of Vida's treasures is a thermowell pot with the double boiler! Cool huh? I hope to add a silverlite high back to Vida. So, if you run into a good deal on one, please keep me in mind.

Well its a good thing Texas is a big state, that must be why there are so many Chambers found here. Another good thing is that there are so many pans to "collect", otherwise we'd have Chambers stoves lining our driveways...More power to you, we bought a really beat up model to begin with and didn't have a clue what to do...and it passed away...V
